what do u get when u mix the script of Rajni's Padayappa and Shankar's earlier Mudhalvan....no
you do not get sivaji..because in sivaji we had to search for the story..and i couldn't even do that properly because all were shouting thalaivar ..thalaivar..and screaming out dialogues before rajnikanth himself could utter them..not to forget the whistles

I agree before everyone that i am prejudiced, me not being much of a fan Super Star Rajnikanth , infact this is my second movie to watch him on the big screen(the first time was that when my parents forced me to watch his self financed movie BABA which was very 'spiritual')

And so..rajnikanth plays an american return Sivaji(of course..what other name) who has earned a small fortune worth more than 200 crores and wishes to do good to his people back home...but first thing first...opening song Baleilika(only god and na.muthukumar knows what that means) with nayanthara(guest role...yes!!she has lost weight ...treat...er..shut up)praising the greatness of tamilnadu...but extensively shot in Pune!!!

Next for the heroine is Shriya saran, who looks even more beautiful and one should really praise her dare to bare attitude...after all even conservative tamil girls have dreams of dancing with really short shorts in spain(and now i know why they call them shorts!)a commendable..job..laugh, cry,and of course dance.
Rajnikanth the main USP of the movie is after the main USP...he looks younger...and even turns white for his lady love...he is back with his sense of humour and defies every law that newton spent hours in his lab researching and of course does good to the society...and find a new getup..and did i mention punch dialogues..but this time it is better with sujatha doing the dialogue...
Vivek gets to play second hero...more complimentary than comedy...others include suman the main villain...do a good job.
if u want me to tell the story.in one line..(actually it is a one line story..).then here it is.....uh..um ..the hero fights black money with one rupee well that is revolutionary..(i have to cut out the sarcastic tone)

the songs..
uh um...5 songs..not exactly at the rite time...but extravagantly...well in how many movies would you get to see shriya swimming..and doing..doing..(well i err. ..have to stop it here...for audience interest)
adirathi..is the pick of the lot..where rajni does a take on the matrix...

the verdict..
definitely a hit..super hit perhaps..the producers know it before they even shot the movie..sheer super star power..but that won't get sivaji past 4 in our REEL-O-METER
watch it..anyway...even though ...come on shankar..you can always make a movie next time with 80 crores...
