The Evano Oruvan Review

We walked into a lesser known Anna theatre for the evening show of R.Madhavan’s Evano Oruvan and we never expected to walk with the same thoughts ever again.

Evano Oruvan will go down as one of the greatest movies made in Tamil Cinema even though it is a remake of the highly acclaimed Marathi movie Dombivali Fast.

I begin Evano Oruvan is not a movie, it reflects the present social situation and it does very well really well, it takes half a hundred bad and hopeless movie to make one good movie.

Evano Oruvan just said what all I wanted to say in life on how I believed  and what I believed that there is no hope for a society because all of us are part of this filth of greed and money, seriously we must be equated with shit for lacking in ideology and social consciousness.

Madhavan does the role of his lifetime and he does it really well besides producing the movie so does Seeman as the indecisive police officer.

Sridar Vasudevan (madhavan) is the middle-class bank employee whose dreams of doing something worthwhile is crushed by the normalcy and boredom of the daily routine but he still tires to keep some kind of ideology till it disrupts the lives of his family when he unable to bring into pay donation for his daughter’s school admission and refuses to put his son into tuition when his wife finally asks him to show of his principles outside, show that he could bring about some change.

That triggers the violent change in madhavan and he goes about hitting wrongdoers with whatever he gets in his hands an impulsive reaction to all that bottled up feelings.

The movie should be taken with utmost seriousness as our society nears the situation of Utopia in which people care less for others think of progressing materially and becoming idiots altogether, doing what others are doing, having no mind of its own, making boredom its only profession and money it’s only God, but nothing can change the society and nothing can be changed by one person unless we start to think of the ways we have come by and where we go out from here , will we be doing what we are doing now, will we become more of filth in the days to some, will our blood be replaced by greed?

But nobody seems to care in whatever is happening around each other.

Like Sridar Vasudevan says to god in the movie, “we can all better become terrorists and slay all our selves”

Watch it and you will regret all the wrong you have done and what you are doing right now

And definitely I cannot rate as I consider it not as a movie
