TATA CRUCIBLE 2008

“Never enter a business quiz ever again unless you have a female quizmaster”- me to myself during sleep.

It’s not that I have something really bad to say about Pick Brain Balasubramanium, for he did keep us entertained with his questions and his “Put your hands together” at the end of the day my hands were glued together owing to the number of ‘put your hands together’. Good job seriously.

I know I can be quite sarcastic about the fact that business quizzing and me are like Troy and Greece even though we don’t have a Helen of Troy in the offing, nevertheless I try to write about these things like everything that I try to write about in my holy blog which was recently credited with being the totally irrelevant blog of the century, Google even warned users not to click on my blog thinking it might be a Trojan horse, see I told you I had a Trojan connection in my blood.

Coming back to the quiz which indeed did take place at Chinmaya Heritage Center one hour behind schedule, the prelims started with paying tribute to those countless women who had made life possible i.e. International Woman’s day. Half hour later we were informed the prelims had finished while we tried to remember all the names associated with business in my lifetime. Among the things which did come to my mind where two bakeries namely Anand bakery and Cinora Bakery which will definitely be part of my autobiography since they have made me what I am with all that cholesterol and romantic memories of nowhere time.

Though Anand Bakery and Cinora Bakery had nothing to do with the crucible it just shows my nature of sitting through the prelims, in fact business quizzing required a different kind of preparation and not the quizzing for fun tag as displayed by the winners from College of Engineering Guindy who had spent blood, money, sweat and time and thus ending the show with 60000 in their hands and a all expenses paid trip to Mumbai to play the final with other regional buddies.

This would be a great blog if I included some obligatory questions from the quiz, but thinking otherwise and the number of people who do read my blog I decided not to but to include he price of chocolate cake in our very own Cinora bakery is rupees five only.

People who have read till hear will understand that the blog is more about chocolate cakes than business quizzing. Though I do not deny the fact I did learn a lot more…

Friends Ramkumar and Siddhart came a close second with some brilliant answers which was expected by the audience.

Quoting Ramkumar “At the end of the day somebody had to lose, it could have been better”

PS: ate samosas at a nearby guess again (Sterling Bakery) who also happened to be malayalee’s

Dedicated in memory of all those malayalee’s who have set up bakeries in the state and Kudos to chocolate cake.
